We’re proud to share the 2016 Middletown Division of Fire Annual Report, which documents the Fire Department’s activities throughout 2016, with you.
In 2016, you may remember us sharing on social media that the Middletown Division of Fire was granted the SAFER grant from the federal government, which allowed us to bring on 12 more firefighters/EMTs at a cost of $1.8 million over 2 years. We were also able to hire two additional firefighters/EMTs from the City’s General Fund. The Middletown Division of Fire also granted several promotions throughout 2016.
In 2016, the Middletown Division of Fire also launched the Investigation Task Force. This task force is made of both firefighter investigators and MPD detectives who have completed specific training into fire and arson investigations. The task force has seen a lot of success and further shows the excellent teamwork and cooperation between the Middletown Division of Fire and the Middletown Division of Police.
