  1. I’ve been enjoying your posts and have been sharing them with some of my more “skeptical” friends that don’t know Middletown so well but have only heard of the “heroin”. My wife and I both work at the Atrium Medical Center and have very little time together because I’m in school when I’m not working. We’ve been playing Pokemon Go (I know) when I get off at 11p and just had a police officer pull up in back of us at Jacot Park with his lights flashing. Can you confirm that all Middletown City Parks are closed at dusk? We can and have gone to Franklin and Springboro with no problems at that time of the night… they just as we keep at least our parking lights on and make sure we are parked in a parking spot so that we don’t look suspicious. Again we were in our car parked in a parking spot at Jacot, no noise, no distractions….. But i can see how that could look suspicious. I just dont think that when the police find out thats what we’re doing that they should make us leave our parks. What do you think?

    • They are indeed closed at dusk. Most communities have a similar policy. Many lock the gates so that you can’t get in after dark. It’s one way to limit mischief and vandalism, etc., at the parks and keep our officers patrolling the streets instead of closed parks. I understand it’s not ideal, but it’s likely a policy we will continue for the time being.
