This Week in Middletown (Aug 1 – Aug 7)

The summer fun continues in Middletown.  If you are looking for something to do to get out of the house and be active in your community next week, take a look at these options!

The Middletown Arts Center will host an exhibition all week exploring contemporary still-life entitled, “Still Alive.” Organized by Cincinnati-based independent curator Maria Seda-Reeder, the show will feature the work of more than a dozen artists working in various disciplines. The M.A.C. will hold an opening reception for “Still Alive” on July 23rd from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and there will be gallery talks and workshops by participating artists throughout the run of the show, which closes August 18th.

National Night Out

Tuesday, August 2, 2016 | 5:00pm – 9:00pm.   Middletown Division of Police will host the

National Night Out at Lefferson Park, 2201 S. Breiel Blvd, Middletown Ohio.

Join the community and the Middletown Division of Police for this fun night out for kids to learn about their community, to meet officers, and to have fun. This is a free event for the whole family! There will be K9 demos, food and drink, inflatables for kids, kids’ fingerprinting and face painting, booths featuring local organizations, and much more.

Next Wednesday, August 3rd is Broad Street Bash night downtown with Wholiginz..  The event is family friendly and free with music starting at 5:30 p.m. on Governor’s Square.   Bring  your lawn chair, grab at bite to eat at one of the downtown restaurants and enjoy the music!    For information on Broad Street Bash, click on the link: http://www.longlivethebash.com/

Next Friday, August 5th has multiple events.

Movies in the Park will be shown downtown at the AK Pavillion this week.  The night’s movie will be Goonies with Forge Kingswell Church on the Rock and Cincinnati State providing refreshments.

The Takin’ it to the Streets concert series will feature Bob Delaposta at 8 p.m. downtown. The concerts are located on Broad Street between Central Avenue  and Reynolds Street.

First Friday| 5:00pm – Downtown Middletown

Midnight Basketball Youth Co-Ed League 9:00pm – 12:00am

Join the Boys and Girls Club of Dayton for night-time basketball! The July + August league will be at the downtown YMCA on Main Street.
