This Week in Middletown (July 4 – July 10)

The summer fun continues in Middletown.  If you are looking for something to do to get out of the house and be active in your community next week, take a look at these options!

Next Wednesday, July 6 is Broad Street Bash night downtown with Hi-Fidelity..  The event is family friendly and free with music starting at 5:30 p.m. on Governor’s Square.   Bring  your lawn chair, grab at bite to eat at one of the downtown restaurants and enjoy the music!    For information on Broad Street Bash, click on the link:

On Thursday July 7th, The Middletown Performing Arts Academy will be holding their dinner theater performance, “Hawaiian Heist,” at 6:30 p.m.  Middletown Performing Arts Academy is located at 4400 Lewis Street, Middletown Ohio.

Next Friday, July 8th has multiple events.

Join in on the fun of the 14th Annual Ohio Challenge Balloon Festival!  This is a 3-day hot air balloon competition and a 2-day festival, open to the public at Smith Park, 5500 Tytus Avenue, Middletown, Ohio.

There will be 40 hot air balloons, with an evening balloon glow each night of the festival. There will be skydiving shows by Team Fastrax and Start Skydiving, carnival rides, music, food, vendors, games, and much more.

There will also be a 5K and more Warrior Weekend activities scheduled in order to honor our active duty military and veterans.  Fireworks shows will be scheduled as well.

There will be VIP and handicap parking inside the park (with permit), $10 per car load for parking inside the park (includes admission for those in the vehicle), or $4 admission for walk-in visitors. Admission is free for children under the age of 12 who are accompanied by an adult.

Movies in the Park will be shown at Jacot Park and downtown at Windamere.  Jacot Park will be showing Minions with Vineyard Cincinnati Middletown providing refreshments.  Windamere will be showing Little Miss Marker (1934) with Shirley Temple, with Forge Kingswell Church On the Rock and Cincinnati State providing refreshments.

Midnight Basketball Youth Co-Ed League 9:00pm – 12:00am

Join the Boys and Girls Club of Dayton for night-time basketball! The July + August league will be at the downtown YMCA on Main Street.

This event will have character-building exercises, skills, clinics, and 5-5 basketball for all teens aged 13-18.  For information contact Destini Burns at
