Please mark you calendars, the Second Annual Middletown Arts Festival will be back in Downtown Middletown on Saturday, September 12 from 12:00-8:00 p.m. and will take place on the blocks of Donham Plaza and Broad Street. The Middletown Arts Festival brings arts together in Middletown, providing multiple events and art styles that allows everyone to find something interesting to get into.
The artists themselves will be set in the area behind the Pendleton Arts Center, but entertainment will continue down the plaza to the back of the Middletown Arts Center. Food and drink vendors will be spread throughout the events.
The Festival is free for attendees, and patrons are encouraged to purchase any art at the festival that they’d like to take home. The main stage for the Festival will be located in the grassy area behind the Pendleton (Broad and Manchester area), and there will be a beer and wine garden outside behind the Manchester Inn. Along with the garden, there will be two additional beer and two wine vendors as well.
The Downtown YMCA is offering free hearing screenings and immunizations at the “health fair” that will be taking place inside of the YMCA during the Arts Festival. The Immunizations are offered for students aged K-7th grade. The YMCA will be featuring kids activities inside the building as well, as will the Middletown Arts Center.
Along with the local artists, there will be art featured from Middletown City School District students as well. There will also be an art judging competition for junior and senior art.
Overall, there will be plenty to do and something for everyone of all tastes at the Middletown Arts Festival. Come on downtown on a crisp, hopefully sunny fall day! There is going to be gospel, jazz, keyboard, rock and roll, and symphony music; there will be a glassblowing exhibit at the Festival; and there will also be a Latino dance group.
The Arts Festival this y ear will run from 12-8 p.m. I hope to see you all there!
