When Forbes unfairly labeled us as one of the ten fastest dying cities in the U.S., one of the criteria they used to make that determination was the small number of residents with college education and 21st Century workplace skills.
That was one of the reasons we sought out Cincinnati State to supplement our secondary education system. We’ve had Warren County Career Center, Butler Tech, and Miami University Middletown available to our residents for years, but that Community College piece offering two year degrees and certificates in other job areas was difficult for our residents to find locally.
Cincinnati State not only offers additional educational opportunities to our residents, but they also offer them in a way that allows most students to attend full time for about $100.00 out of pocket per year. That’s not a gimmick or a trick. Most students attending the school are eligible for financial aid options and scholarships that allow you to attend almost for free.
If you sign up by August 14th, you can receive up to $3,000 in scholarship assistance. Five new scholarship options have been added for this year including:
Get Back to School Scholarship – a scholarship for individuals who have graduated from high school during the years 2010-2015.
GED Scholarship – a scholarship for individuals who have graduated with their GED during the years 2010-2015.
Second Chance Scholarship – A scholarship for second chance citizens with criminal records looking to get their life back on track.
Older and Wiser Scholarship – A scholarship for individuals over the age of 24 trying to get a fresh start on their career.
Home School Scholarship – a scholarship for individuals who completed home schooling during the years 2010-2015.
If you are ready to improve your job prospects, consider checking out all of these great options to move your career and your family to new heights.
